About Us

What we do
IPHAS works in two ways, directly advising and helping residents and also representing residents views to Government.
Advice is free to our members in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
For Membership Details please see the link on the home page.
Park home residents seek advice in the event of a dispute between residents and park owners. IPHAS offers advice on residents rights and ways of handling disputes without going to Court. Sometimes Court action is unavoidable and the team can assist residents with the complexities of Court procedures and paperwork as well as help in choosing and instructing a lawyer.

We work at Government level and with other associations representing residents views and ensuring the interests and rights of residents are protected in any proposed changes to legislation.

Our advice is often requested by council officials and the Citizens Advice Bureau and other relevant organisations and our opinion is sometimes sought by lawyers. As we are not lawyers, we cannot represent either side in legal proceedings but we can offer guidance to all parties in the hopes that court action may be avoided altogether and the dispute can be settled amicably outside court.

The team members of IPHAS offer information about residents rights under the mobile home legislation and the advice or recommendations given is for information only. It remains the responsibility of the resident or park owner to make his/her own decision on action to be taken using the information given. The IPHAS team members are not lawyers but volunteers who have made a study of the relevant legislation. The advice is offered in good faith but IPHAS cannot be held responsible for the consequences of any action taken whether or not it was based on the information given
