Some words of thanks received over the past few years.

(anonymity preserved)

We have received Congratulations and Best wishes for all our efforts and success over the inclusions in the Housing Bill. One writer also said he viewed our IPHAS members’ only pages, copied the additional sections added to the Act and copied the relevant sections to his park owner!   This is a first as far as we know, but the park owner is now aware that the parks’ Residents’ Association is “retaining an interest in these matters”.   Well done that resident.

I am writing to thank IPHAS for being such a marvelous and well organised voluntary organisation. My mother was a park home owner but sadly died early Feb. As the administrator of her assets I had no clear picture of my rights etc in respect of her home. IPHAS has been simply marvelous in filling in that gap. Your publications were clear & easy to follow and the 2 times I used the help line your advisor called back promptly and was very patient and thorough in answering my questions. I am not sure how many pats on the back the team get but you do all really deserve to feel very good about what you do. Be assured you provide not just a useful service but an essential one.

Thank you very much for all your advice, it put us in a substantially stronger position in our negotiations with our park owner. We have now agreed a settlement figure with him and while the figure is somewhat below the market value we felt that we needed to bring this to a conclusion since the house was the residence of my late father in law and his daughter (my wife) wanted to bring this episode to  conclusion. IPHAS are doing a fantastic job in ensuring justice for park home owners, I therefore have no hesitation in recommending your organisation--- it was the best £5.00 we ever spent.

You may recall some weeks ago I joined IPHAS and required some immediate advice. You came back to me so quickly and the advice was dispensed so efficiently that it left me in no doubt that my residents should all join up.

I, as Secretary of our Residents Association recommended to all Residents at our meeting tonight, that they should join IPHAS.

I am pleased to advise you that they voted unanimously to join. I need therefore to take out a block registration for the remaining 17 homes. (We have 18 homes in total but I am already a member)

Thank you for such a prompt reply to my question.  I am so impressed by the efficiency of your organisation and hope that, if in future we have any queries, that you will be able to help.

I inherited the home when my mother died in 2006.  I have strongly recommended IPHAS to the new owner.  Many thanks indeed for the invaluable support and guidance you have given me.

I have just been onto the site and seen the many letters of thanks that have been sent, I would personally and on behalf of my Residents Association, of which I am Secretary, like to thank Alan Savory and David Tweddle for taking the time and patience to answer the many questions that have arisen since the new owner bought this park.  Their help and advice has been invaluable.

This  following letter of thanks was received by Joan  who says:  “ IPHAS first met  this lady at a Link meeting in  1999  but it was only during this year (2007) that she needed to contact us for help.  Correspondence took place between Alan, Mike and myself, culminating in Alan visiting and attending a meeting of residents to give advice on forming a Residents’ Association.  Many of our publications were sent or given to assist and in August 2007 we  received 2/3rds of the Residents’ Association’s homes in registration. “

The letter has been slightly edited to protect the writer and members.

This little note follows the ‘block’ group registration cheque sent by our Distributors.   It is largely thanks to their enterprise that we have such a good number of homes taking part, as well of course, the inspiration Alan gave us and the knowledge of your own dedication. And so also I thank you so very much for all the prompt and very helpful information you sent to help us – just right!

What you and your colleagues have done over the years is so wonderful, it is inspiring to us, and no doubt, to many others.

From what little we, as the committee, have done here, we see just what determination and service of time and thought and action it needs to form a solid core of willing participants and we hope to carry out our constitutional aims and try to create a friendly goodwill-relationship with our site owner.

Hopefully with your dedicated expertise we’ll eventually make it.  Much, much appreciation and thanks.

.... AS THEY SAY IN TESCO, 'EVERY LITTLE HELPS'.  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, YOU ALL DO A MAGNIFICENT JOB AND PARK HOME LIVING WOULD BE IN A SORRY STATE WITHOUT ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS.

Thank you so much for sending me the information and details about IPHAS.  I have joined and wish I had known about IPHAS before I made my purchase - what a lot of information to take on board. You obviously all work very hard on behalf of park home residents.  It is certainly a very different way of life!  Thank you again  best wishes

IPHAS is an organisation prepared to give expert advice to its members who may encounter some problems with living on a Park Home site.  Its primary function, however has been to persuade the Government to improve the legislation which governs Park Homes and so prevent exploitation of P.H. occupiers.  They have had considerable success in this recently and the Housing Bill, likely to become law by the end of this year, carries several clauses resulting from their recommendations.

We are very grateful to Roy Waite for taking the trouble to attend one of our park meetings.  We received some marvelous help from Roy whose advice and support has proved invaluable. Roy is known to many here as someone we can turn to and we would like to think of him and Beryl as new friends

The information books I received from IPHAS were enormously helpful throughout the process of choosing and buying my Mobile Home. Thank you. I shall continue membership now I am an official Park Home dweller.  Not only will it be useful to me but it will be good to support your work.

I have just read the Housing Bill statement from the ODPM office. Please say a huge thank you to all those of you who have battled for this for years. It may not be much to some people but having been threatened with eviction myself it means a lot to me and my wife. .
